Prairie Mosaic: An Intercultural Ministry Event in Saskatchewan, June 2012
Dear friends in the intercultural ministries network,
We are pleased to announce that this summer, there will be a regional intercultural ministries event in Saskatoon!
From June 6-7, 2012,Prairie Mosaic: An Intercultural Ministry Event in Saskatchewan, will gather people at Grosvenor Park United Church.Recognizing that “intercultural” means much more than ethnicity, Prairie Mosaic will explore many degrees of difference.The event takes place just before the Saskatchewan Conference Annual General Meeting.
Highlights of the event:
· Workshop themes will include affirming ministry, truth and reconciliation, intercultural church experiences, and racial justice
· Joseph Naytowhow is the guest artist (Joseph created hymn #141 in our More Voices hymnbook); Michael Blair is the keynote speaker
· Learning in Community grants are available for people who attend in groups of 5-12
· Course credit is available through St. Andrew’s College
It will be an exciting event!
The cost of the event is $60 by April 15 or $75 after April 15; $45 for youth and underemployed.
We recognize that it make not be possible for some of you to travel to Saskatoon for a two-day event; however, we hope that you can hold the planning team and gathered people with prayer. We hope that you can help spread the word about the event in your own networks. We also hope that it might inspire you to dream of intercultural possibilities in your own region!
If you are interested in attending, we would also encourage you to please ask you contact your presbytery and/or Conference for financial assistance.There is no financial support available from the General Council Office.
